With a combined total of 14 championships the Lakers are one of the most historic teams in the League. They have seen the greatness of Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Magic Johnson, Shaq, Kobe and other pass through there team and dominate the league. The Lakers are back on top this year after stealing Pau Gasol from the Grizzlies.
With trade demands from Kobe prior to the 07-08 season, it seemed as if the Lakers were going to become a bad team, which is extremely rare in Lakers history. But the emergence of Bynum, and the trade for Gasol has brought dominance back to LA where the Lakers are now a true title contended in the West this year.
