New Jersey Nets Information
The New Jersey Nets started to rebuild with the trade of future Hall of Fame point guard Jason Kidd for rising star Devin Harris, picks and other players. The New Jersey Nets currently have a very young team. The team should be in good standing when they move to Brooklyn, which will be as early as 2010. The Nets currently play in East Rutherford in the Izod Center. The Nets should be a legit playoff team, and scary for any high seed in the playoffs. The Nets certainty have a bright future.
The franchise was originally established in 1967, as a member of the ABA. During the ABA and NBA merger, the team became a NBA franchise. The Nets have been one of the best teams in the 2000s, behind President Rod Thorn and Jason Kidd. In 2002, the Nets made the NBA finals, but were swept by the Los Angeles Lakers. The Nets did not have to wait long to get back to the finals, returning in 2003 and were defeated by the San Antonio Spurs in 6 games. Although New Jersey is curently rebuilding, they seem the have the right pieces to be a contender in the near future.
